Warm and sunny. If you going to describe the weather on Maui, just say warm and sunny. Of course that is at sea level. Haleakala and the West Maui Mountains provide a cool alternative.
Maui is well known for its micro climates. For example, Lahaina means "cruel sun" in the Hawaiian language. So expect great sunny days and nights that are 10 degrees cooler. Kihei is also very warm and sunny. So as you can imagine it is also a popular resort area. Upcountry Maui is going to be cooler. As you ascend in altitude the temperature gets cooler until you get to the top at Haleakala. Haleakala temperatures are cold. At 10,000 feet above sea level you can expect the temperatures to be cold, bring a jacket. Haleakala National Park and the road to Hana are very popular points of interest. If you are going to Hana, you'll find it is the green side of Maui Island. Actually, once you get to Haiku area of the Hana Highway you'll notice just how green the area becomes, all the way to Hana town.
Maui's popularity is a result of weather, ocean, mountains and Aloha spirit. Be sure to do a bit of research and enjoy your visit.
